+ PROGRAM DIRECTOR (FULL-TIME)

Programs Director - (Minimum age - 21+)

The purpose of Camp Haluwasa's Summer Program Director is to further the mission of the camp through the managing of our summer staff and delivery of programming; teach and manage programs themes and curriculum; oversee approved camp activities appropriate to the campers' age and abilities; and working with all camp departments to assist in the management of the overall all camp operation at the direction of the Camp Director.

This position is an exciting opportunity for a born-again, mature, ministry-minded Christian to be part of our dedicated youth camping ministry team. The applicant should be a mature leader, physically fit and have experience in: youth/children ministry, and event management, AV setup and media presentation, etc. Other necessary skill sets are being comfortable as a front person able to command an audience's attention while making a positive connection with campers and parents. An important part of this position is keeping staff and campers safe, gaining the respect of the ministry team through strong leadership, training, and keeping everyone accountable to camp regulations and our Christian standards.

This position calls for applicant to work directly with camper parents/guardians, staff, and campers. Applicant must be able to stay calm and work through any situations and be able to work closely with the Camp Director at all times. Organizational skills with a productivity mindset is mandatory. Must have a heart attitude to further the Kingdom of God and share the Gospel with today's youth and adults.

Work Experience:
Past Youth Ministry Work Experience preferred - Past Leadership Experience is preferred - Training will be provided.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be able to lead teams and staff.
Must be able to give a Bible message, devos and teach God's Word to both children and teens in a dynamic way.
Must be able to clearly present the Gospel and Share How To Ask Jesus Into Your Heart.
Must be able to use a computer, Microsoft Office 365, create and manage databases.
Must be familiar with PowerPoint, AV media applications and audio equipment.
Must be highly organized and handle time management well.
Speaking at churches, youth groups and other events are an important part of this position.
Leading camp songs and playing either a guitar or piano is preferred, but not required.
Keeping camp items inventory and management is required.
Planning and Knowing Youth Games and fun events are an important part of this position.
Being open to do multiple jobs here at Camp is an important part of service here at Haluwasa.
Understanding that our ministry work encompasses many different working hours and days - it is demanding but very rewarding!
Must love the outdoors, having fun with youth, serving others and most of all - Serving the Lord with all your heart!

Physical Demands:
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in hot and humid conditions.
Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, hiking long distances, shouting, ability to lift/carry anywhere from 15 to over 90 lbs., and engaging in difficult and manual labor.
Must be able to see with his/her eyes, hear with his/her ears, and use arms and hands to operate tools and equipment.
The position also requires the ability to drive a vehicle with passengers and various other camp vehicles.

Compensation:
The full-time compensation package includes salary, staff housing at camp, utilities, company phone, and other benefits.

+ MAINTENCE & FACILITIES PERSON (FULL-TIME / PART-TIME)

Haluwasa, Inc. has an opportunity for born-again, mature, ministry-minded Christians to be part of our camp ministry team (Min. Age 21+). The applicants should be physically fit and experienced in carpentry, electric, plumbing, vehicle, and grounds upkeep, etc. Organizational skills with a productivity mindset is mandatory. Must be able to work directly with the Camp Director and take instructions with a positive attitude. Applicant should be a problem solver and have heart attitude for ministry work to further the Kingdom of God. Training will be provided according to our maintenance and facilities projects and up camp up keeping.

Work Experience:
Experience working in building maintenance, or construction preferred.
Experience in maintaining and repairing automobiles, golf carts, farm tractors, and small motors preferred.
Experience operating heavy machinery and various power tools preferred, but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be safety-minded, following all rules and taking a personal interest in his/her own safety.
Must have a good understanding of building maintenance, heating, electrical, plumbing, construction, etc.
Must be very comfortable and competent working with dangerous equipment including but not limited to power tools, heavy machinery, etc.
Must be flexible with an ability to adjust and problem-solve in challenging situations.
Must be willing and able to use technology such as radios and smartphones to communicate verbally as well as via texts and email.
Must be willing to work at any hour to handle facility emergencies and problems.
Must be willing to learn and help with operations set up and break downs, clean up work, and other various duties.

+ CAMP HALUWASA VOLUNTEER'S

Haluwasa, Inc. has an opportunity for born-again, mature, ministry-minded Christians to be part of our camp ministry teams.

Consider Volunteering at Camp Haluwasa! God will surely Bless You!

Haluwasa is a non-profit ministry and we are seeking volunteers to come and help us with our many camp projects. We need all kinds of helpers to serve in many different areas of camp operations:

We are seeking:
  • Camp Grounds Keeping & Clean Up - Clean up leaves, pick up sticks, rake and blow out our camping areas
  • Tree Cutting & Removal - We have several trees that we would like removed
  • Maintenance & Facilities - We have several projects that we could use your help fixing up our camp facilities
  • Summer Staff Recruitment Helpers - If you have Christian ministry connections, we need your help to connect with young adults and adults to fill our summer staff team
  • Housekeeping & Camp Cleaning - Help us clean up to be ready for our guests and campers - Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, windows, etc.
  • Railroad Crew Volunteer's - Help us keep our railroad looking and working great - Changing ties, painting, cleaning, building railroad equipment, etc.
  • Summer Camp Volunteer's - Serve on our Summer ministry team - Kitchen helpers, housekeeping, activity helpers, camp security, program help & set up
  • Become a Haluwasa Ambassador - Help us get the word out at your church, youth group, school, etc. We'll train you and provide all handouts to help us promote Haluwasa!
